Summer 2009 Housing Application Instructions:

To apply for Summer 2009 Campus Housing at Stony Brook University you must complete the following online application in its entirety. Upon completion, payment of all summer housing fees are required in full before an assignment will be processed. (For individuals whose summer housing is being supported by an academic department, research grant or other third party payment, a letter from the supporting organization including the account or grant # to invoice must be provided to the Office of Campus Residences before an assignment will be processed). Payment of fees must be made in person at the Bursar's Office or via mail to:

Priority assignments will be processed for applicants who complete the on-line application process and pay the summer housing fees by May 9, 2009. After May 9, 2009 applicants will be assigned on a space available basis.

When submitting a summer housing request, please include the id # (s) of all preferred roommates and / or apartmentmates. Every effort will be made to honor preferences submitted but roommate / apartmentmate requests cannot be guaranteed.

Term I Assignments will be processed on or about May 14th (for those who meet the May 9th priority application deadline) and notification of assignment will be sent via email to the applicant's preferred email address as reflected in SOLAR. Check in for preterm residents will occur on May 27th, only, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm at the West Apartments Commons (E Building). Check in for Term I will occur on June 1st between noon and 5 pm and June 2nd between 9 am and 5 pm. at the West Apartments Commons (E Building). Term I assignments will be held until 5 pm, June 2nd. If you plan to arrive after this date and want your space held you must notify Katie Musar, the Summer Housing Coordinator, in writing (KMUSAR@notes.cc.sunysb.edu). Late arrivals will be billed for each day that the space is held.

Term II assignments will be processed in early July, just prior to the start of session II and notification of assignment will be sent via email to the applicant's preferred email address as reflected in SOLAR. Check in for Term II residents will occur on July 13, between the hours of noon and 5 pm at the West Apartments Commons (E Building) and on July 14th between 9 am and 5 pm at the West Apartments Commons (E Building). Term II assignments will be held until 5 pm, July 14th. If you plan to arrive after this date and want your space held you must notify Katie Musar, the Summer Housing Coordinator, in writing (KMUSAR@notes.cc.sunysb.edu). Late arrivals will be billed for each day that the space is held.
