University Graduation Ceremony.
Important Academic Dates & Deadlines for Fall 2012
Friday, August 24 at 1p.m.
Credit limit will be raised to 19 credits for students in good academic standing.
Sunday, August 26
Semester cancellation deadline. Last day students can drop all courses via SOLAR.
Monday, August 27
First day of classes.
Wednesday, August 29 at 9 a.m.
Credit limit will be raised to 23 credits for all students with Cumulative G.P.A’s. of 3.0 or higher, and no “I”, “R”, “NR”, “Q” or missing grades. (A $20 administrative fee will be automatically billed to students’ accounts for those who enroll in more than 19 credits).
Friday, August 31
Last day you can add yourself to a waitlisted course.
Sunday, September 2*
Last day to drop a class or withdraw from the University without tuition liability. *Offices are closed on Weekends* Download and fax withdrawal form located at www.stonybrook.edu/registrar . Please see additional details below.***
Monday, September 3
Labor Day-No Classes in session.
Tuesday, September 4
No Classes in session.
Tuesday, September 11 @ 4 p.m.
-Last day to drop or withdraw from the university without a “W” (Withdraw) recorded on student record. You are liable to pay pro-rated tuition and all fees.
-Last day to add classes and process a swap. Tuition liability may apply if you reduce credit load.
-Last day to change status to or from full-time & part-time status.
-Last day to apply for graduation.
Friday, October 26 @ 4 p.m.
-Last day to process a Section Change or Credit Change for an enrolled course. Section change/Credit change form with appropriate signatures required for processing.
-Last day to change a class to or from the Grade/Pass/No Credit (G/P/NC) option. Students are allowed to elect the G/P/NC option for only one course per semester.
-Last day to drop a course. (“W” will be recorded). Full-time students must remain full-time with a minimum of twelve (12.0) credits.
