Health Education Internship

This three-credit S/U graded internship will enable students to experience the preventive aspect of health care – Health Education.

The student will present a college health issue to be approved by the faculty advisor and site supervisor. Students will have the opportunity to design and implement a Health Education project on this health issue, whether it is developing and presenting an experiential workshop, designing and distributing a health education brochure or a health promotion flier or another project. The student will gain valuable experience and knowledge in the field of health education.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior Status
  • A GPA of 2.3 or higher
  • Commitment to 120 hours for the semester / 10-12 hours a week
  • Report to faculty advisor once a month (3 times/semester)
  • Report to site supervisor (CPO- Health Educator)
  • Track activities in a weekly journal to be reviewed with faculty advisor
  • Complete tasks determined at the start of the internship
  • Complete a five page paper critiquing the internship experience.
