SAVE SOME CASH 
Commuting with a friend makes time go more quickly and saves money.
When ordering a large amount of LIRR tickets, buy them online to save some money. Consider the monthly pass.
Purchase one of the commuter meal plans because by using one you don’t have to pay taxes on the food you buy on campus!
A good place to grab a tax free snack if you just want to use cash is the Harriman Hall Cafe.
BRIGHT IDEAS 
If you have a locker on campus, keep an umbrella, dry socks and shoes in it. When it rains, it pours!
If you have a break in between your classes, instead of sleeping in one of the commuter lounges, go to one of your professors' office hours. It can help pass the time more efficiently and give you a chance to make important connections on campus.
If you drive, consider investing in jumper cables, a tire jack, or AAA. AAA will even bring you gas if you run out. BONUS!!!
The Hospital Chapin bus will take you to South P from the SAC.
Many of the faculty and staff parking lots are no longer restricted after 4pm. Some of the metered lots are free after 7pm. Make sure to check the signs before you park!
Try to arrive at south P 20 minutes before the start of your class to make sure you have plenty of time and avoid being late due to crowded buses.
COMMUTER ESSENTIALS 
Get a locker at the Union, Melville Library or Student Activities Center. They are useful for storing heavy books.
Try to schedule classes so that you have at least one break each day. Use that time to do administrative errands and study.
If you are looking for a relaxing place to study, go to the Humanities Building or Wang Center.
If the library SINC site is too crowded, try the newly renovated one in the Union basement.
No ink or paper in your home computer? Send things to print at the main SINC site in the Melville Library. Search “Print from anywhere” on the Teaching Learning and Technology web page to learn more!
If you've talked to Academic Advising and you're still uncertain of a major, meet with a career counselor.
The Commuter Student Association has meetings on Wednesdays at 1pm with free food! Never give up an opportunity for free food!
The Gym Road Lot fills up very early. You might want to try the other commuter parking lots if you don’t have early morning classes.

You are allotted 40 pages of printing per day, with rollover throughout the week if you don’t use it all each day. You are allowed even more over the weekends!
