| Stony Brook is committed to the promotion of safety and respect within the campus community and to the support of those who are in need of help. Because statistics show that on campuses across the country, as many as 1 in 5 women will be the victim of a sexual assault during her college career, the University believes that the problem of sexual assault needs to be addressed directly and requires the active participation of every member of the campus. The information on this website is designed to give students, faculty, and staff the tools to learn about resources, find ways to help prevent sexual assault, and know how to ask for help.
Whether you’re interested in helping others or are in need of help, the University has a variety of medical, counseling, and educational resources available that are committed to maintaining confidentiality.
