Can a student who is blind or deaf follow along with a video?
Is your classroom accessible? In addition to physical accessibility the University has a responsibility to make the content of the class room accessible.
All student learning styles can be supported if:
1. When showing videos in class or online, the video should be captioned or described depending on the needs of the student.
2. Transcriptions should be provided for audio delivered via PowerPoint or other media.
3. When preparing a PowerPoint presentation, avoid using color as the only means of conveying information.
4. Charts and images should also have a text description in the alt-tag to make them accessible for persons who are blind or visually impaired.
