Sustainability Efforts
The Department of Facilities Operations for the SAC & SBU is committed to the sustainability goals of the University. Working in partnership with the Stony Brook Environmental Club and the Department of Environmental Stewardship, our team seeks to engender the commitment of all building patrons, event organizers, and tenants to help minimize our global impact.
We are proud to say that our efforts over the past three years have already begun to show a trend in the right direction. Since July 2005 the SAC has reduced its electrical draw by 20,000 kilowats per hour. Such an accomplishment is only possible through the support and cooperation of our entire community. While we are very proud of this accomplishment – we’ve only just begun. Please join us by helping our buildings, as well as the greater campus community, prove that a true Seawolf fan Red Hot with a tinge of Green!
