Diana Voss (nee Pedagno), Class of 1998
Manager of User Support Services
Diana Voss (nee Pedagno) has a BS in Information Systems from the Stony Brook University and a MS in Information Technology from NYIT.
Currently, Diana is manager of User Support Services for the Department of Teaching, Learning + Technology (formerly known as Instructional Computing) and is responsible for support for all SINC Sites (student computing labs), Blackboard support for students and faculty, as well as other computer applications that the department provides.
Diana's experiences outside of the classroom while an undergraduate student at Stony Brook helped prepare her for taking on a leadership position so early in her career. She worked as a student consultant in the SINC Sites for Instructional Computing; was President of the Society of Women Engineers; and was a peer advisor for Academic Advising and assisted at Orientation. While in these various positions, she was able to network with various departments throughout campus. She discovered that there are many wonderful people who are here to support student success. Upon graduating and accepting a full time position, she worked with the various departments to include information about Instructional Computing services in Orientation/Opening weekend as well as other student service area events on campus.
William R. White, Class of 1985
Investment Advisor for JP Morgan Chase
William White graduated in 1985 from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Originally entering Stony Brook as an Engineering major, he realized his true passion was economics and quickly changed his track. Stony Brook University, known for its rich academic approach, was not the only thing that prepared Bill for his successful career as one of the Top 10 Investment Advisors in the nation. Bill says that his vibrant social life and dealing with people of various backgrounds was what really prepared him for his current career.
When asked about Stony Brook as his Alma Mater, Bill claims, "Learning to interact with all different types of personalities, and learning from the diverse student population has greatly contributed to my success in the business world." He also says that when he graduated, there wasn't much of a Career Center on campus to assist him with his post-graduate life, but he is thrilled at the leaps and bounds that the University has come in establishing and maintaining such a valuable resource to the students.
Bill lives on Long Island with his wife and four children; he also sings and plays guitar for his rock band, FEAR of FRED, which has been featured on several television networks such as MTV, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon.
