Perfecting your leadership skills is a continuous process and requires time, energy and effort. During your time at Stony Brook University, it is important to continue to grow and learn by taking part in personal and professional development opportunities.
Here are two things to remember:
1. Always stay up-to-date about the Educational, Development & Training programs being offered. As you become more confident in your skills, focus on the opportunities that target experienced student leaders and that give you greater hands-on experience putting your skills into practice.
2. Find a mentor who can help guide you when working towards achieving your leadership goals. Mentors come in many different forms. Your mentor may be your advisor, supervisor, hall director, professor, TA, or any one of a host of other professionals on campus. Find someone you trust and who has your best interest in mind.
