Pre-Professional Advisors

Kelly Haller
Pre-Professional Advisor

Kelly has earned a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Stony Brook University. Her passion for advising began here when she worked as a student advisor in Psychology department.

After completing her undergraduate degree, Kelly financially advised students as a Manager of Student Accounts at the New York Institute of Technology's Manhattan Campus. In 2010, Kelly earned an MS in Counseling from NYIT and became an Academic and Career Counselor at LIU Post; advising students from first-year through graduation and primary advisor for pre-health majors.

Kelly is excited to have returned to her alma mater and looks forward to assisting students in reaching their career goals.

Lakshmi Ramsoondar

Lakshmi enjoys being a Pre-Professional Advisor at Stony Brook University, her alma mater. She earned her bachelor's and two master's degrees from Stony Brook studying the cultures of Asia and the diaspora of its people, international governments, international relations, U.S. politics & public policy, and wide-range of topics in higher education. During her undergraduate career, Lakshmi worked as an Orientation Leader, and became a part of the advising family as an Academic Peer Advisor. As a graduate student, Lakshmi worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Undergraduate Admissions Office and as an Assistant Coordinator for Community Standards in Campus Residences. Upon completion of her degree, she began to pursue a career in higher education and worked as a Residence Hall Director and then later rejoined her advising family as a Pre-Professional Advisor at SBU. Lakshmi loves working with, and advising all of our seawolves both present and alumni!
