Training Courses
The Training and Organizational Development unit of Human Resource Services encourages and facilitates staff and organizational development. The area provides training opportunities that enable employees, at all levels, to develop the skills and competence needed to be successful in their chosen careers or prepare for new responsibilities by participating in a variety of developmental programs.
Technology-Based Programs
Faculty, staff, and matriculated students have access to over 400 Business Skills and 400 Information Technology on-line courses. Individuals can access these courses from both on-campus and off-campus.
School of Professional Development
Opportunities for Union Members
The School of Professional Development offers computer training, professional workshops and personal development programs for members of the professional, scientific and technical bargaining unit of the Public Employees Federation (PEF) and for members of Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA).
Computer Training at SPD
The School of Professional Development has been a successful computer training provider for over 20 years, assisting adults who want to change careers, reenter the workplace or upgrade their current skills. Whether it be a multi-course IT certification program or a two-session class on using Excel, we have the course you need.
All classes are hands-on, are led by instructors with real-world experience, and are held in well-maintained laboratories with the latest hardware and software. Students have the choice of registering for an individual course or enrolling in a complete certificate program.
Division of Information Technology
The Client Support Training team provides extensive training for staff on some of the administrative computer applications used by the University. Our classroom training sessions are led by professional trainers and allow users to practice using University specific exercises.
