The Department of Campus Recreation coordinates many programs for the University community, including Intramural Sports, Wellness Programs, Sport Clubs, informal Open Recreation, Special Events, and Equipment Rental. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of campus life for students, faculty, and staff by providing a diverse range of programs and facilities to meet your recreational needs. The University community is encouraged to take advantage of the many recreational programs and fitness facilities on campus. We have something for everyone! |

Summer Activity
The Department of Campus Recreation Coed Summer Softball League is now taking registration. Early-bird registration deadline is Friday May 30th (cost $175.00) If you register after May 30th the cost is $225.00, and the final day to register your team is Thursday June 5th. League will run from June 10th – Aug. 19th. Games will be played at 5:30pm & 6:45pm on Tues &/or Thurs nights. Teams will consist of at least nine people (4 women minimum) on the field at all times. Only students, faculty & staff of the University are eligible to participate. For more information, please contact David Hairston at 632-7120. Undergraduate students participate for free.
The Department of Campus Recreation will be organizing 3 kayaking trips in Port Jefferson Harbor on Friday, June 20th, Friday July 18th and on Monday, August 11th @ 10:30am (time may vary due to tide schedule). Registration Fee is $25.00 per person/trip which includes kayak rental and lunch. Undergraduate students registered for summer classes are free. This trip is for beginner/intermediate kayakers in good health and will be approximately 4 to 5 hours in length. Only students, faculty & staff of the University are eligible to participate. The Department of Campus Recreation will be organizing a trip to Shea Stadium to see The New York Mets take on the Seattle Mariners @ 7:10pm. Departure Time will be 4:15 pm from LaValle Stadium Parking Lot. This trip is $10.00 for SBU undergraduate students who are registered for summer class’s payable at the time of registration. (includes ticket and bus transportation) Tickets are available for graduate students/faculty/staff. Cost is $25.00 payable at the time of registration.
