The Department of Campus Recreation coordinates many programs for the University community, including Intramural Sports, Wellness Programs, Sport Clubs, informal Open Recreation, Special Events, and Equipment Rental. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of campus life for students, faculty, and staff by providing a diverse range of programs and facilities to meet your recreational needs. New Jersey Nets Game December 4th 2009 @ 8pm (Bus leaves SAC Loop at 4:45pm)
Join the Department of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Life as they take a trip to New Jersey to watch the New Jersey Nets take on the Charlotte Bobcats! Tickets to the exciting NBA game will be sold at the Student Activities Center Ticket office for only 15$ with an undergraduate student ID. Tickets will include transportation to and from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey as well as admission to the game. The trip will take place Friday December 4th, so get your tickets now before they sell out! When tickets sell out there will be a waitlist in the Department of Campus Recreation office in the Sports Complex room G-7!
Personal Training & Group Exercise Certification
Take your passion for Fitness & Wellness to the next level with Campus Recreation. NETA, the National Exercise Trainers Association (www.netafit.org), will be on campus; Saturday, February 6, 2010 for a Primary Group Exercise Certification, Sunday, February 7, 2010 for a Drums Alive Workshop, and February 20-21, 2010 for a Personal Training Certification. Wellness Center 3 Day Free Pass
All Faculty & Staff can now experience the Wellness Center for FREE with our limited availability 3 Day Free Pass. Faculty & Staff can sign up for a FREE pass by visiting the Wellness Office in the Student Activities Center, Room 225. The pass is good for any 3 Days during the fall semester. All you will need in order to sign up is your Stony Brook University ID card. Stony Brook University Breaks Ground On Campus Recreation Center
Inclement weather could not put a damper on the celebratory event that was the official ground breaking ceremony for the new Campus Recreation Center (CRC) at Stony Brook University on June 5. The $37.5 million 85,000 square-foot CRC is a student-oriented facility featuring contemporary work out space, space for a quality intramural program and for sports club team practice and competition.
