The Department of Campus Recreation coordinates many programs for the University community, including Intramural Sports, Wellness Programs, Sport Clubs, informal Open Recreation, Special Events, and Equipment Rental. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of campus life for students, faculty, and staff by providing a diverse range of programs and facilities to meet your recreational needs. The University community is encouraged to take advantage of the many recreational programs and fitness facilities on campus. We have something for everyone! |

Whitewater Rafting Trip – Sunday, September 14, 2008
Come for the rapids . . . or come for the scenery. Either way, you’re certain to laugh, splash, scream and soak yourself silly . . . the most fun you will have all year. Come join the Department of Campus Recreation on this fun filled day as we raft down the Lehigh River. Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 10th and is limited. For more information, please contact the Department of Campus Recreation at 632-4145. To register, please stop by the Department of Campus Recreation, G-7 Sports Complex. Fee: $15.00. A $50.00 re-fundable deposit is required upon registration.

Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament – Tuesday, September 9 @7:00pm – Jasmine’s – Wang Center
The Department of Campus Recreation will host the 5th Annual Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. This tournament is free to all students/faculty/staff of the university. The registration deadline is Friday, September 5th @ 5:00pm. This tournament is limited to the first 96 participants. 3 on 3 Outdoor Basketball Tournament – Thursday, Sept. 11 @ 7:00pm – 11:00pm – Outdoor Basketball Courts behind the Sports Complex

Stony Brook receives $18M for new recreation center
Stony Brook University has received the additional $18 million allocation needed for the construction of the new Campus Recreation Center (CRC) on the main campus, announced President Shirley Strum Kenny.
