Stony Brook University Back on Top for the First Time Since October 7

UNION LAKE, MI – Stony Brook University is back for the third time as the #1 team in the country in the 2015-2016 ACHA Men's Division 1 Ranking #16.  The Seawolves swept league rival Rhode Island (9-5, 7-3) to up its record on the season to 22-2-0 and return to the #1 spot for the first time since October 7.  Former #1 Lindenwood drops out of the top spot to #2 for the first time in 3 weeks after splitting a pair of road games with league rival Illinois on the Big Pond in Champaign, IL.  The Fighting Illini pulled off the 4-2 upset win on Friday before the Lions bounced back with a 4-1 win on Saturday.  Minot State beat  Williston State (6-2) before a home sweep over Midland University, pounding the Warriors 8-2 on Friday before squeaking out a 4-3 (1-0) shootout win on Saturday to improve to 27-2-2 on the season.  Central Oklahoma reeled off its 10th consecutive win of the season and in the process avenged an earlier season sweep at the hands of Iowa State to move to 23-6-1.  The Bronchos rolled through Ames, IA and came away with a 4-2 win on Friday and a 4-1 win on Saturday over the Cyclones.  Rounding out the Top 5 was Davenport which gutted out a sweep of Robert Morris Illinois at home by winning 4-2 on Friday before eking out a 3-2 win in overtime on Saturday.  With the wins, the Panthers improved to 26-2-1 on the season.
