Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art based on kicking and an Olympic sport. At club
practices, we study traditional forms, spar each other to train for competitive fights,
and generally do a lot of cardio. Every experience level from rookie to black belt
is welcome, and every interest level from just-for-fun to earning gold at national
competitions is accommodated. The club attends 2 to 4 intercollegiate tournaments
a year, and belt tests to advance in rank are conducted at the end of each semester.
Black belt college students lead practices, with occasional training from Master Andrew
Park, 5th dan, of Eagles Tae Kwon Do in Flushing. If any of this sounds interesting
to you, check us out in the Rec Center twice weekly!
