The Division of Campus Residences has programs to train students, provide guidance and offer education in the areas of:


AIDS Peer Education 

AIDS Peer Education addresses issues of HIV transmission and risk reduction, including identifying opportunities to discuss risk and promote risk reduction, and supporting the process of behavior change.  The core of the preparation is a two-course, two semester sequence for which students earn a total of six credits. As a result of being an AIDS Peer Educator, students will learn skills that will help them speak with their peers about risk reduction.

Fall/Spring Weekend Retreat

     Fall semester retreat is scheduled for early September at an off-campus location.
     Spring semester retreats are a series of day long sessions on campus.


Diversity Peer Education 

The Diversity Peer Education program will train students on how to effectively engage others, analyze situations, and bring about change in the campus context through the lens of diversity and social justice. The skills learned in this class will not just be applicable to situations related to diversity, but also will encourage students to reflect on themselves, their own experiences, and develop their interpersonal skills. In this program, diversity will be defined as differences in human social identities in the broadest sense (diversity of religion, diversity of socioeconomic class, diversity of race, diversity of sex, diversity of sexual orientation, and more). This 400-level class is sponsored through the department of Africana Studies and grants internship credit to participating students.

*Spring semester retreat is a required event. There is also a group interview event in the interview process, which will occur on Wednesday, November 30th from 1pm-2pm, during campus lifetime
