Youth Conferences: Book a Conference

Welcome to Summer Conference and Guest Housing, a unit of the Division of Campus Residences at Stony Brook University. Summer Conference and Guest Housing is available from the beginning of June through the approximately, mid August, annually. Our facilities are modern and reasonably priced and provide a comfortable living environment in proximity to all academic, sports and cultural facilities on the Stony Brook campus as an alternative to hotel lodging.

Stony Brook's Conference Housing Service provides several housing options and levels of service, depending on the conference you being planned. Whether you are organizing a meeting, conference, retreat or special event, we are available to support your needs including on-campus housing. Stony Brook also provides Conference Housing to a wide range of middle and high school aged academic and enrichment based summer programs in addition to hosting a large number of youth aged overnight sports camps in our residential facilities.

Stony Brook University has the largest residential inventory in the SUNY system and all of our facilities have been newly constructed or renovated in the last 10 years. We provide a variety of residence hall, suite and (on a limited availability basis) apartment style facilities for our Conference Housing guests. Rates vary, and are based upon type of facility, occupancy usage (single or shred occupancy) level of amenities provided and staffing levels. All of our residential facilities are fully furnished and comply with CAL 133 fire codes. All bedrooms include wired and wireless ethernet access points, cable tv jacks (tv units not included), and land line phones.

The residential facilities utilized by our Adult Conference Programs offer both single or double occupancy spaces, individual climate control units in each room and an optional linen service. Our Youth Aged Conference Programs and Sports Camps are typically hosted in traditional corridor style residence halls with a common bathroom and lounge on each floor. Youth Aged Conference facilities are not air conditioned.

All of our Conference Housing units are staffed by both professional and student staff on a 24/7 basis. All staff has undergone a criminal background check (including a check of the New York State Sexual Offender Registry) and are trained in First Aid, CPR and use of an AED. There are custodial and maintenance staff assigned to each residential community to ensure and maintain the standard of comfort we strive to provide for our guests.

Although the University provides Conference Housing to both adult and minor aged groups, the facilities offered to these programs are physically separated from one another and there is close supervision of Youth Aged Conference Housing guests under the age of 18.
