Fall / Spring New Student applications: Incoming freshman and transfers must complete a housing application on the housing portal, in addition to paying a $200 housing deposit, if required. In mid June 2017, applicants who have been notified that housing will be available for them, will be invited to log onto the housing portal and select a specific room assignment and roommate (space available),
Early Access Application: Students who require early access for the Fall 2017 will be able to move in no earlier than Thursday, August 24, 2017. To apply for early access, please visit the housing portal (this link will be live in mid July 2017). There is an additional nightly fee for students who move into the residence halls prior to their scheduled move-in date. The nightly fee is based on a resident's Fall 2017 housing rate. Residents with prior community standards sanctions may be denied the opportunity to move into the residence halls prior to the regularly scheduled move in date.
Fall/Spring Continuing Applications: On-line Room Selection is now complete for the 2017-2018 academic year. We are no longer accepting applications at this time. For more information about off-campus living options, please visit the Off-Campus Living website.
Housing Waitlist: The 2017-2018 waitlist is now on-line.
To access the waiting list you will need your Stony Brook NETID and Password. Log onto the housing portal site. Access the specific application period(s) you wish to add your name to the waiting list(s) for. Specifically:
-If you are an Undergraduate, you can add yourself to the 2017-2018 Academic Year waiting list and /or the 2017-2018 West or Chavez / Tubman waiting lists (for those who are academically eligible to live in these communities).
-If you are a graduate student or family applicant (living with a spouse and / or child), you can add yourself to the Chapin, Schomburg and / or West Grad waiting lists.
Given the anticipated demand for housing, we do not expect to call students from the waiting list until after the start of the Spring 2018 semester, if at all. You will be contacted on a first come first serve basis as spaces become available.
Housing Cancellation Form: Students wishing to cancel housing for a specific semester may do so by completing the cancellation form below. Students who cancel by August 15th (January 15th for the Spring semester) will receive a $100 credit of the $200 room deposit that was paid. Students who cancel after this date but prior to the start of the semester will not incur housing charges for that semester provided they have not picked up the key to their assigned space. Once a student signs into their assigned space, they are financially responsible for that space until they properly sign out and return their room key. Students who cancel housing for one semester will forfeit future priority for housing and are unlikely to obtain housing should they require housing during a future semester / year. In order to cancel your housing for a specific housing term, complete the on-line Housing Cancellation Form.
Mid-Year Room Change Request: The mid year room change process is currently inactive. The deadline for a mid-year
room change request is December 8, 2017.

Spring Break Housing Registration: Please fill out this form and state whether or not you will be staying on campus for Spring break. The information will help the Division of Campus Residences concerning matters of safety and security. Please keep in mind that you are still expected to follow the University Conduct Code and Terms of Occupancy during break times. If you have any questions about this log, expectations during break, dining options, etc. please speak with your Resident Assistant, Hall Director, or Campus Residence at 631-632-6750. Spring Break Form is currently down until Spring Break 2016.
Summer Housing Application: To apply for Summer 2017Campus Housing you must complete the online application in
its entirety in the housing portal. Be sure to read all instructions on the application prior to applying. You will
need your NetID / Password to apply for summer housing. For priority placement, applications
are due Friday, May 5, 2017. Applications will be accepted after this date, but on a rolling basis according
FOR NEW HEALTH SCIENCES STUDENTS. You will receive your NetID and password when you enroll for summer classes. You will be receiving information from your academic program about orientation and enrollment. Once you enroll and complete your application, summer housing will be assigned.
