retreat shotThe staff of the Department of Residential Programs believes that  education is a collaborative process  involving students, faculty and  staff who are committed to designing a residential experience that  enhances  student learning. As educators, creating an ethos of learning is our most fundamental purpose.

The keystone of the Department's philosophy is for our community  of learners to explore the wide variety of educational opportunities  available at the University as a means to better understand and  appreciate the unique qualities that all members of this community  have to offer. Our purpose is to create a stimulating environment that continually challenges and supports students pursuing academic excellence. 

In striving to achieve this goal, the Department of Residential Programs offers many opportunities that enhance the educational experience of the whole person. These experiences will eventually contribute to a person's intellectual, interpersonal, spiritual, physical and identity development and will help the individual understand and fulfill their responsibilities to the community at large.
