Francisca
Aninat was born in 1979, Santiago, Chile. She graduated from Fine Art
at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and from Art History
at University of Maryland, USA. In 1999 she received the honor scholarship
from the Universidad Católica and in 2002 she graduated with
honors at University of Maryland and received the Frank DiFederico Award
given to the best students of each generation. Her work is a reflection towards the condition and the role of painting today. Francisca has participated in different collective and individual exhibitions, like, ‘Expansión’ in Santiago, 2005; “Tránsito”, in Punta Arenas, 2005; “Pasar” in Valparaíso, 2005, “Contracción de Material” in Matucana 100, 2004 and Arte América in Miami, 2004. She obtained the award “Marco A.Bonta” from the ‘Municipalidad de Las Condes’ (2004); distinction in the painting contest of the National Parliament (2005) and a commission to build a Mural for the Hospital del Trabajador in Santiago, Chile (2006). Today, Francisca Aninat is studying a master degree in Fine Art, in London, England. |
