Laboratory

General Information
Student Health Service building, main campus.
Phone: (631) 632-6740
Hours: M-F, 8:15 am to 5 pm or until 4:30 pm for blood drawing.

Intersession/Summer Hours: 8:15 am to 4 p.m., or until 3:30 pm for blood drawing.

The Student Health Service lab is registered with CLIA, and participates in the "College of America Pathologists" proficiency testing program.

Staffing
The Laboratory is staffed by experienced,licensed medical laboratory technologists.

Services
Basic routine tests that are performed in the Student Health Service lab include:

  • Venipunctures
  • Complete Blood Counts
  • Monospots
  • Glucose (Finger stick)
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Throat Cultures / Urine Cultures

Tests not performed in the Student Health Service Lab are sent to outside laboratories. The tests performed by these outside laboratories will have associated fees and they will be billed to the patient.
